R.I.P Kasey Dixon-Grainger

On Sunday 28th August 2011, Kasey was killed in an horrific accident on the drag strip of York Raceway whilst doing what he loved to do so much – racing his much loved Cortina down the quarter mile strip.

In the short time we knew Kasey we saw just what a good man he was. His enthusiasm for the car scene was boundless and infectious, and his willing to help others was endless.

Without Kasey’s support and positivity, it is doubtful that the Whitby Kustom Show would ever have taken place and his warm welcome for us when we arrived on the North East custom scene at the OK Diner will never be forgotten.

Our heartfelt thoughts go to his family and to his girlfriend Sam.

Although we were privileged to know Kasey for just a couple of years, we considered him to be a friend.

The Whitby Kustom award for the best display of the true spirit of the show will now will be called the Kasey Dixon-Grainger award.

Kasey - we’ll never forget you.

Paul and Mike.
